The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro: High-End Features for an Amazing Price
If you are looking for an affordable robot vacuum with a lot of advanced features, check out the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro. Although Deebots aren’t well-known in the U.S. like iRobot’s Roomba, that may change soon. In China, they are the number one brand. It should be noted that “Deebot” is the name that Ecovacs Robotics uses for their line of robot vacuums.
About Ecovacs Robotics
Ecovacs Robotics was launched in 2006 by electronics manufacturer Ecovacs Group. Ecovacs Robotics does more than just make robot vacuum cleaners. They have four brands of in-home robotic products:
In 2016, they launched the UNIBOT, which is a multi-functional home robot that can clean floors, purify air, and detect intruders. It is controlled by a smartphone app.
By forging into new arenas in home robotics, Ecovacs Robotics is working to establish itself as a worldwide leader in the field. The company, and its robot vacuum cleaners, will most likely become a bigger player in the North American market in years to come.
7 Amazing Features of the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro
The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro has a lot of features that you would normally find on a high-end robotic vacuum. Here are just a few of these great features:
1. Wi-Fi Connectivity and Smartphone App
The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro can be controlled not just from your smartphone, but from your Alexa device. For example, you can say: “Alexa, ask Deebot to start cleaning” to start the robot vacuum up.
You can also program in custom cleaning schedules and monitor the status of your Deebot using the app. You can also view battery life on your smartphone.
If you don’t want to use your smartphone, the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro comes with a remote control.
2. 4 Different Cleaning Modes
The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro has a variety of cleaning modes that can be set from the smartphone app or remote control. The default mode is “auto-clean.” The three “bonus” cleaning modes include intensive cleaning mode, which adds suction and increases brush rotation, spot cleaning mode, which focuses on a specific area, and edge cleaning mode, designed to clean edges and corners.
3. Wet Mop Functionality
What is truly amazing about the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro is that it is not just a vacuum cleaner. It is also a wet mop! Not only that, but it will dry after it mops in a single pass. You won’t even need to sweep beforehand because it does that too!
If you do not need the mopping feature, you can get other Ecovacs Deebots models that simply vacuum. These can have a lower profile and reach into tighter spots. Some owners also claim they can vacuum a little better without the mopping option included.
4. Top-Mounted Dustbin
The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro has a dustbin that you access from the top of the unit instead of the side or back. This is to prevent spills when you are lifting out the bin to empty it. The dustbin also incorporates a handle for easy carrying. The top-mounted dustbin also has a capacity of 500 ml so it can take in more dirt before you have to empty it.
5. Helix Brush Roll to Open Up Carpet Fibers
The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro has a special brush roll that is detachable. This “helix” brush roll is designed to lift up the individual carpet fibers and then separate them so the dirt can be sucked out easily.
6. Solid Battery Life
Some high-end fancy robot vacuum cleaners can only run before 45 minutes before stopping. The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro can last almost two hours – 110 minutes – before needing a recharge. The battery will take four to five hours to fully recharge.
7. Amazing Price!
Considering all the features mentioned above, you would think the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro would cost at least $500. However, you can purchase a brand new Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro for $229.99. That is an amazing deal for all the features you get.
The mop feature alone is not standard on most robotic vacuum cleaners and is worth the price in and of itself. Although some reviewers had issues, 68 percent still gave it four and five-star reviews.
Downsides of the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro
Of course. no product is perfect. Some buyers' vacuums stopped working, yet they were impressed with how Ecovacs' customer service replaced the units or gave refunds. Others said the product's noisy, though great at picking up dirt. Given the price and customer service, many said the hassles or downsides are worth it. We are hopeful that Ecovacs will work out the glitches.

Get More Bang for Your Buck with the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro
You may not have heard of them before, but you sure have now! The Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro is one of the most affordable and feature-rich robot vacuums on the market. Now you can see why Ecovacs Robotics is the top brand in China. Watch this company for more exciting innovations in home robotics.
Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Review in a Nutshell: Heavy Duty Power in a Lean, Feature-Packed Vac
Looking for a Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro review? This powerful and lightweight vacuum cleaning machine is hugely popular and for good reason. It offers a tremendous amount of power in an easy-to-maneuver form, weighing in at just 8 pounds. Some of the features of this powerful little vacuum cleaner include:
We also think this vacuum's quite stylish.
Our Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Review: 6 Things to Love
Recognized as an “Amazon’s Choice” on the massive online retailer’s website, the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Ultra-Light Upright has an average of four and a half stars. Many reviewers say this machine is better than the upscale Dyson brand vacuum cleaners.
Below are six of the positives reported by Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro owners.
1. Large Dirt Cup
With a large dirt cup, users have reported that the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro can clean an entire three-bedroom house without having to empty the container.
2. Easy to Clean
The Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro dirt cup can be removed and cleaned easily without a lot of hassle.
However, some report that the dust canister doesn’t open all the way when you empty it, so to be sure to have the dirt cup positioned entirely over the garbage can when you need to dump the contents.
Because of its light weight and small size, this vacuum cleaner by Shark can be easily moved around tight spots without a lot of wrestling. It can easily be positioned under tables and beds to clean hard to reach places.
Because it can also work as a handheld vacuum, the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro cleans more than just floors, but walls, corners, and ceilings.
4. Better Than Dyson
Dyson has been the premier vacuum cleaner brand for many years after its founder invented the bagless vacuum cleaner. However, recently, people have reported issues with their vacuums being less than reliable. Dyson’s customer service has also been under heavy fire.
Lovers of the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Upright say that their Shark not only works better and is more reliable than Dyson, but the customer service is far superior.
5. Powerful Suction
Even though the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro is a lightweight vacuum cleaner, it still manages to pick up a lot of dust and dirt. As one reviewer wrote:
“This is the best vacuum ever!! I am so pleased with it. I used to hate vacuuming with my $40 vacuum, and now I know why. It wasn't picking anything up! This is so easy to maneuver and extremely practical. Very happy!”
6. Good Value for the Money
While the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Ultra-Light Upright vacuum is not the cheapest. In general, the price ranges from $174 and $205. However, this still makes it a lot cheaper than some of the more expensive vacuum cleaners on the market (we’re looking at you, Dyson). What's more, you may luck out if it goes on sale.
Considering that most reviews say that the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Upright seems to be fairly reliable – and customer service is responsive if there is an issue – the price tag would appear to be well worth it.
Because so many gave this product high marks, we give it 4.5 out of 5 stars for our Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro review. The Ultra-Light Upright is highly rated with over 85 percent 4-star and 5-star reviews on Amazon. As a matter of fact, it's also popular with buyers doing searches for "the best vacuum cleaner." And best of all, you can have it in just three days with free shipping via Amazon Prime.
Not Every Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Review Was Positive
Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews for the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro, not everyone is in love with the machine. Some people had problems with hair winding around the roller in the floor attachment, causing the plastic to melt. Not only did they say they were told they needed a replacement, but the replacement costs $130!
However, you should be careful when reading reviews on Amazon. Sometimes they change a product description on an old page, and you end up reading reviews for an older version of the machine. In this case, some of the bad reviews for the “Shark Rocket” are actually for the “Shark Ninja.” It is actually not clear whether the plastic melting rollers are actually a problem on the Rocket or the older Ninja.
Overall, Buyers Love the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Ultra-Light Upright
You will never find a vacuum cleaner that is 100% reliable. And, chances are, even the places with the best customer service will hire a bad apple that you will have to deal with once in a while. That said, it looks like the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Upright has a lot of positive reviews for a reason. It is a reasonably priced, lightweight, powerful vacuum that does a great job. Unless you're ready to spring for a robot vacuum, it certainly doesn't get any easier than this.
You can’t compare robot vacuums adequately without including an iRobot Roomba 690 review.
When iRobot’s Roomba robot vacuums transformed our idea of what a vacuum cleaner was back in 2002, they were one of the only kids on the block making affordable consumer robovacs. While they weren’t the first to market a robotic vacuum cleaner, iRobot was the first to make robot vacuums exciting and “sexy.”
Since then, Roomba has continued to dominate the robovac market. While it has some stiff competition from Eufy and Neato Robotics, iRobot still has the edge with its Roomba brand name.
The question then becomes, is iRobot just leveraging its brand name for sales, without putting efforts into making quality products that work for consumers? Or, are they (like some charge with Dyson), using their past glory to promote current mediocre products? In this review, we will discuss the Roomba 690. For comparison of all the previous Roomba iRobot models, see this post.
When putting together an iRobot Roomba 690 review, you have to look at a number of different variables, from price to power to reliability. Fortunately, the Roomba 690 vacuum cleaner provides an excellent value for what you get.
First, you should be aware (if you are new to the world of robot vacuums) that all robot vacuums, at least the good ones, are generally much more expensive than traditional vacuum cleaners.
High-end robot vacuums can run about $1,000.
This may seem a lot if you are used to picking up a cheap upright vacuum cleaner at Walmart for $50.
As with anything, generally speaking, the more money you spend, the more features you get. This is especially true of technological items such as automobiles and home appliances that tend to start with very basic versions that offer minimal functionality on the low end, then get more pricey as more features are added, all the way up to super high-end models that use the latest in gee-whiz technology along with all sorts of bells and whistles.
This is what makes the Roomba 690 robot vacuum so great. It is Roomba’s entry-level self-propelled vacuum, yet it has a lot of features that you would normally find on a high-end robot vacuum.
We will get to those features in a moment, but for now, just realize that at an MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) of $374.99, the Roomba 690 robovac is one of the most affordable robot vacuums.
For a truly entry-level vacuum cleaner that is more than $100 cheaper, you can try the Eufy RoboVac 11. But, as you will see, the Roomba 690 has more features.
The future of robot vacuums is Wi-Fi connectivity, so you can control your robovac with your smartphone or tablet. It is actually somewhat surprising that in 2018, all new robot vacuums don’t come with this feature...but the fact is, they do not.
While you can expect Wi-Fi connectivity to be a standard feature for all new robovacs soon, for now, it is still a great add-on. Once you have it, you will not want to live without it.
Not only can the Roomba 690 connect with your smartphone app, it can also be controlled by Amazon’s Alexa with voice commands.
Since a robot vacuum runs by itself, you need to set limits if you don’t want the vacuum cleaner to enter certain rooms or areas. Sometimes this can be done with a simple rubber bumper, but manipulating and moving a manual barrier can be a bit of a pain in the rear end.
The Roomba 690 has a great solution: a “virtual wall.” This is a small tower that runs on two AA batteries. It has two modes. When the tower is slid into the “up” position, it creates a 10-foot digital barrier that the Roomba will not pass. If you slide the tower down into the “down” position, it creates a “halo” barrier. This is a circular barrier with a diameter of four-feet and can be used to keep the Roomba away from items like pet’s water bowls.
While it may not be the longest lasting battery on a robovac, the Roomba 690 is capable of running for 70 minutes, which can get a significant amount of cleaning done. The much more expensive Dyson 360 eye barely lasts 45 minutes on one battery charge.
The bottom line in this Roomba 690 review is that the Roomba 690 offers great value for the money. For an entry-level robotic vacuum cleaner, it offers features you would usually find on more expensive models. These features include the ability to run the Roomba from your smartphone app, and an advanced virtual wall beacon. It is a really great machine for an affordable price.

Most people don’t enjoy cleaning.
Unfortunately, though, it’s one of those things that has to get done, like it or not.
Now, are you ready for some good news? If you know a few essential cleaning hacks, you can make cleaning easier, faster, and less miserable than ever before.
One simple tip that may surprise you is that two simple ingredients- white vinegar and water- can clean just about anything. And, as a bonus, this simple mixture is much, much cheaper than the standard commercial cleaning products.
To make this “magic mixture” yourself, combine equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray on surfaces and wipe up with a cloth. You’ll find that surfaces gleam and odors are eliminated with ease.
For those rare tough stains that this mixture doesn’t work on, add a tablespoon or two of baking soda to the mix and shake well. That should do the trick
Window screens and screen doors look nice when they’re first installed. However, they quickly become a gross mess of splattered bugs, cobwebs, and other outdoor grime and grit.
Cleaning them seems impossible, but not if you know this simple hack.
A lint roller, the kind you use on clothes, is perfect for getting the grime out of the tiny crevices of a screen door. Try it for yourself, and you’ll be amazed at how much you pick up. You’ll be even more surprised at how like new your screens will look when you’re done.
Just as you wouldn’t expect lint rollers to work on screens, you might not expect dryer sheets to work on your toilet. But, surprise surprise, they do.
These robust sheets are particularly helpful for removing rings from the toilet bowl as well as other stuck on stains.
So, pop on some gloves, grab a dryer sheet and go to work on your toilet. You will be amazed at what this sheet can get out. The secret lies in its robust, abrasive texture. In fact, that texture also makes dryer sheets an excellent choice for cleaning baseboards and buffing out any small scratches or scuffs you find around the home.
There’s nothing worse than getting a whiff of some disgusting, rotting smell coming from your garbage disposal.
When this happens, run the disposal thoroughly for a while. If the smell is still there, then stuck-on crud is likely to blame. Fortunately, there is an easy way to get rid of it.
Grab a toothbrush (NOT one you plan to use again), lift up the little folds on the garbage disposal, and then brush away the grossness, using water as needed as you go.
This is an easy way to get rid of all of those odor-causing food and trash particles and to ensure your house smells fresh again. And, for some bonus good smells, run a few slices of fresh lemon through the garbage disposal. The sweet, citrusy aroma should positively permeate your home.
You just learned how to eliminate odors from your garbage disposal, but what about those odors elsewhere? Or, even worse, those odors you can’t pinpoint.
For strange smells lurking in a room, a freshly-opened package of baking soda shoved in a corner can work wonders. Baking soda naturally absorbs odors, so after a day or so, you should notice a vast improvement.
You can also sprinkle baking soda on your carpets before vacuuming to absorb odor, in the cat litter box, or anywhere else you think could use a “smell pick me up.”
Reusing your cleaning sponges is an easy way to save money, but it’s also an easy way to spread germs and bacteria if you’re not careful.
Fortunately, it’s easy to get your sponges looking great again and to get rid of potentially harmful bacteria.

Just add your sponges to the dishwasher next time you run a load. You will find that, after drying, they perk up quite nicely. And, even more importantly, they will be fresh, clean, and ready for you to use all over again.
As you can see, cleaning doesn’t have to be significant pain. In fact, it can even be fun, especially if you try out these simple cleaning hacks. There are much more out there too, so do your research to make cleaning easier than ever before.
When it comes to keeping your home’s air clean, you have many different options concerning filters.
One of the best options that you can choose is a HEPA filter, but what exactly is a HEPA filter, how often do you need to replace these filters, and are they worth it?
These are all questions that people have about HEPA filters, and, luckily, the answers are pretty simple and straightforward.
First things first, it is essential to understand what, exactly, HEPA filters are. HEPA is an acronym. It stands for “high-efficiency particulate air.”
It is important to note that not just any filter can achieve the “HEPA” designation. To be a genuine HEPA air filter, the filter has to meet government standards put in place by the United States Department of Energy.
Related Post: Choose the Best Air Purifier for Allergies and Asthma
These filters, under government standards, have to remove at least 99.97% of the tiny particles that pass through them.
Because of the high standards that these filters must meet and because of how high quality they are, they are commonly used in facilities for which air quality is critical, such as hospitals. However, they can and are often used for homes as well. And, with proper care, they can go a long way toward improving the air quality and quality of life in any home.
Once you have purchased a HEPA filter, you may have questions about how often you should change it.
It is important to note that different HEPA systems and HEPA-compatible systems will have recommendations about how often to change filters. Thus, you should always follow the instructions for your specific system.
With that said, a good general rule of thumb for most HEPA filters is to change them at least once every six months, mainly if the filter contains carbon. However, some filters can go for as long as two years without needing to be changed. If you are unsure about how long your filter is designed to work, remember that you have nothing to lose by playing it safe and changing your filter at least twice a year.
You can and should also change your filter if you notice any of the “warning signs” that your filter needs to be replaced.
As mentioned, you should always change your filter according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Or, if you’re unsure about the directions for your particular filter, you should change it at least once every six months.
Aside from that advice, though, there are some instances in which you should immediately change your filter. After all, every home is different, and some homes will go through filters more quickly than others, especially if you do things that negatively affect your home’s air quality, such as smoking indoors or having pets.
Looking at your filter, for instance, can be a good indicator that you need to change it. If the filter appears gray or just seems dirty, such as having lots of visible dust and debris on it, you will want to go ahead and change it out. After all, everything that is on your filter is everything that is circulating through your lungs and the lungs of your family members. So, if there is build-up on the filter that you wouldn’t want in your lungs, go ahead and change it out.
Related Post: Exhaust Filtration - HEPA Vacuum Cleaners
Another indicator that you will want to change your filters is if you notice that your heating or air conditioning functions take a long time to turn on. You may hear that “whirring” sound when you power up, but if it takes awhile for the actual heat or air to come through, this could indicate that your system is dirty and clogged and is, therefore, taking a while to start sending fresh air into your home. You can eliminate this problem by changing to a clean, new filter.
Allergy flare-ups among your children or other family members may also mean that you need to change your filters. Some people, including those with allergies, are more sensitive to poor air quality and can benefit from having the air filter replaced more often. So, if you or your kids or spouse start sneezing and sniffling more often, it’s a smart idea to change the filter and see if that fixes the problem.
As you can see, it’s pretty easy to keep your filter looking and functioning well. All you have to do, in most cases, is change it out twice a year. And, if that doesn’t work or isn’t often enough, then just look out for the warning signs that your filter is in dire need of changing and then change as needed.
When you’re looking for a new vacuum cleaner, it’s important to read reviews to find the best options. You’re probably familiar with a lot of brands, like Hoover, Dyson, Bissell, and Black and Decker. You’ve used some of those brands, maybe even for years. We’ve got a series of vacuums we think you should consider, from one of those well-trusted brands: the Dyson V6.
In 1987, James Dyson founded Dyson Limited. Previously, he had noticed a problem with vacuum cleaners. They used messy bags that often impeded the suction function of the vacuum cleaners. Dissatisfied, the man looked for inspiration and a solution. He found this at a local sawmill, as he watched the sawdust removal system. This system removed the sawdust from the mill’s air through large, industrial cyclonic system.
This kind of technology had never been applied to vacuum cleaners before, but Dyson saw its use, tried it out at home by jerry-rigging together a cardboard cyclone, and found this simple fix far more productive than the typical bags in vacuum cleaners.
Dyson found little success with his technology to begin with, but as the years passed, his ideas were proven viable. And now, Dyson is one of the most well-known vacuum cleaner manufacturers in the world.
One of our favorite vacuum series is the Dyson V6. The V6 is basically an updated version of the Dyson DC59 Animal. It’s a lower cost version, with fewer attachments, but most people say they’d rather have this new version, even with the fewer attachments.
Since the Dyson V6 series works beautifully, we’re good with the changes. We’ll take a look at four of our favorite V6 models, and give you the what’s what on each of them.
This slim stick vacuum comes in the bright, almost heroic colors of red, blue and silver. It’s got two different heads, which feed that name, the Absolute. The two heads included are the soft roller, which is designed for hard surfaces like wood and linoleum, and the direct drive cleaner that goes after the carpet.
The awesome thing about the Dyson V6 Absolute is not only does it function like a stick vacuum, allowing you to suck up dirt and debris from carpet and wood, but it converts into a handheld for hard to reach places like corners, stairs, and behind furniture. It’s perfect for cleaning any surface, and we really mean that. Ceilings, walls, and drapes are as easy to clean as the floor.
This model is perfect for the smaller home, whether you’re in an apartment or small house. Its cordless feature makes it easier to maneuver in small spaces with fewer tripping hazards. Its shape and design make it easier for getting into those awkward places that only small homes have. It holds charge for about fifteen to twenty minutes, which is perfect for a small home.
We love this model in particular. It’s got all the features of the other V6 models, but it’s got the added bonus of a HEPA filtration system. If you’ve got allergies or pets, the HEPA model is the way to go. Bonus, the filter is a lifetime filter that’s washable. Saving money is always good.
The Dyson V6 Animal is perfect for cleaning up messes left by your fur babies. Cat hair and dog hair are no challenge for the lightweight V6 Animal. Some customers have claimed that they’ve never had a better vacuum, and others rave about its power and its ability to keep the charge over a hefty length of time. For a cordless vacuum, that’s some pretty high praise.
The Dyson V6 Fluffy is especially great for hardwood, tile, and linoleum surfaces. It works on carpets, too, of course. But customers rate it most highly for use with hard surfaces when they’ve got pets that shed everywhere. Brooms just don’t do it, but the Fluffy does. It’s easy to clean, easy to empty, and because it’s light-weight, it’s easy to move around the house for getting those tough spots in the kitchen corners, bathrooms, and even the attic.
So, whether you’ve got a lot of drapes to clean, live in a small apartment, need a cordless vacuum for the car, or just like the convenience of a compact vacuum cleaner, the Dyson V6 series is worth considering as you shop for a new vacuum cleaner. The V6 series has several different models including the Animal and the Fluffy, which are both especially good for homes with pets. The V6 Slim is great for small homes, and the Dyson V6 HEPA is perfect for the family with allergies. Whichever model you go with, you’ll find a great clean for a minimal effort.
Dyson vacuums V6, V7 and V8 share same design philosophy, but they also differ in many important details, including operating time, suction power, size, available cleaning attachments etc.
When comparing cordless Dyson V6 vs V7 vs V8 vacuums, it is also very important to know which models are actually being compared: Trigger, Motorhead, Animal, Absolute etc. and what are their differences...
